The wire

The general desk: everything that does not sit inside one rubric, newest first.

The wire is the general desk. It holds the material that belongs to the subject but not to any one of the other sections: a glossary of the terms that turn up in a dispute, what changes about an account once identity has been verified, the pieces that cut across crypto, payments and game rules at once, and the shorter notes that follow something as it develops.

Because it is the general desk, it is also where new material lands first and where anything published without a natural home will appear. Newest at the top. If a run of pieces here turns out to share a subject, they move into a section of their own and the wire keeps only the ones that still do not fit.

Desk
Where a piece sits when it belongs to the subject as a whole rather than to one rubric.
Primary source
The document a claim comes from. On this site a figure with no source is left out rather than rounded.
Correction
A change to a published piece, marked as such. Silent edits are not corrections.
Scope note
A line saying what a piece does not cover, so a reader does not take it for advice it is not.
